Over the past few five hundred years or so since the invention and improvement of the printing press, the printed word has added great value to most civilizations around the world. Textbooks, instructional handbooks, newspapers and magazines, contracts, administrative forms, currency, packaging and labeling, marketing materials, bibles and other religious books . . . Everyday, we utilize and depend upon these “life essentials” to communicate, inspire, and trade knowledge, ideas, and important facts.
In this era of environmental concern and responsible stewardship, commercial printers have been encouraged to produce products that have a minimal impact on the environment. Finding the balance between the consumption of these “life essentials” and the proper stewardship of available environmental resources has become a great social concern that reaches beyond mandated government regulation and competitive certification.
To find this balance, the printing industry has been utilizing recycled paper, recycling paper waste, and purchasing paper from mills certifi ed in the responsible stewardship of the environment.
At Execuprint, we recycle a great percentage of the paper we use that results in normal manufacturing waste. We purchase paper products that contain recycled content ranging from 10-100% along with paper that is produced by companies certifi ed in the responsible stewardship of the environment. We also use inks that utilize environmentally-friendly technologies to ensure a “greener” pressroom.
